bògòlanfini is a handmade malian cotton fabric traditionally dyed with fermented mud. It is an ancient and wholly organic dyeing and painting technique, unique to this part of west africa which produces a limited but beautiful palette of ochres and rust colours.
care: only wash when absolutely necessary. use chemical free soap and cold water. submerge your mud cloth, gently stirring, let sit for about 5 mins. remove mud cloth and gently ring out excess water.
use: throw, blanket, wall decor, decor.. anything your heart desires.
the organization helps village people in dogon country to live on their own resources. the cotton is produced in dogon country and the design is done in ségou, 10% of the proceeds will go to three different schools in dogon country, for buying scholar kits, as well as helping the village people there.
